Description
Bentachlor 35WP Herbicide
Active Ingredients:
- Pretilachlor 33% - Belongs to the chloroacetanilide herbicide class. It disrupts cell division in susceptible weeds.
- Bensulfuron-methyl 2% - Belongs to the sulfonylurea herbicide class. It inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), an enzyme critical for plant growth in targeted weeds.
Mode of Action:
Bentachlor 35WP is a systemic herbicide, meaning it's absorbed by the weeds through their leaves and roots and disrupts internal processes. The two active ingredients work in different ways:
- Pretilachlor: Stops the formation of new shoots and roots, ultimately killing the weed.
- Bensulfuron-methyl: Blocks the production of essential amino acids, starving the weed and leading to death.
Spectrum:
Bentachlor 35WP is effective against a broad spectrum of weeds, including:
- Broadleaf weeds: This includes common weeds like goosegrass, lambsquarters, pigweed, and clover.
- Grasses: It can control grasses such as barnyardgrass, crabgrass, and sprangletop.
Benefits:
- Pre-emergent and post-emergent control: Bentachlor 35WP can be applied before weeds emerge (pre-emergent) or after they have germinated (post-emergent).
- Broad-spectrum control: It controls a wide variety of weeds, reducing the need for multiple herbicides.
- Residual activity: The herbicide remains active in the soil for a period of time, providing continued weed control.
Important Considerations:
- Follow application instructions carefully: Using the proper dose and application timing is crucial for effectiveness and to avoid harming your rice crop.
- Consult with a local agricultural expert: They can advise on the specific weeds in your area and the best application practices for your rice variety and growing conditions.
- Practice proper herbicide storage and disposal: Always store herbicides in their original containers and dispose of them safely according to local regulations.
